LifeRay and QGIS

So, the Apache server provided as part of the LifeRay Social Office package seemed to screw up my wireless card. I had no connection for a while this morning, but once LifeRay was removed then it all seemed OK. There are still issues with the template, so I am going to try and do a clean install.

Downloaded the Alaska dataset and started playing with QGIS. It is a bit slow with large datasets, but it has very good integration with GRASS. Also, SpatiaLite works like a dream on Windows. I tried to create a map and got the following – the Legend seems to be causing the most issues. I’ll keep at it, but map production seems a bit fiddly – I think it is more designed for programmed map production.

Not as good as ArcGIS!
